If you ask a nissan lover he'll say nissan and mazda - mazda.
Most cars now if you don't have a "computer" to plug into it you have a hard time trying to figure out the problem.

I'm a Toyota guy, but given the Nissan/Mazda choice I would take the Nissan.

And I'd say the 626..lol. 2yrs of age advantage and a slightly larger car if I remember correctly. I guess it would depend more on what the intended usage is.

Not sure if this is the same body style, but when they first came out, I thought Altimas were ugly ugly ugly!!!

I didn't expect this many responses! Thanx.

The 626 owner says he replaced clutch, Timing belt and H2O pump recently and the car is ok miles wise. (The engine is a v6)

I have a 95 altima and they are pretty decent cars. I like that the altimas have timimg chains.

Do mazdas have impact engines??? I do believe the H2O pump is NOT behind the timing belt as in some cars--a plus in my book!

Is there somewhere I can find pix or a diagram of a Mazda 626 v6 engine on-line? I'll poke around and see what I can find.

at The world's most trusted name in belts, hoses & hydraulics | Gates Corporation I found some really helpful info.

I found out which cars do/do not have interference engines, when the timing belt should be changed, if the water pump is driven by the timing belt, if all drive belts should be replaced when the timing belt is replaced. Nice info. to know
