electric window solinoid

i have a 2001 chevy venture van. my driver side window quit working. the mechcanic said it was the solinoid . i had to buy the whole assembly because you cant just replace it . was i taken to the bank. i hope not but just wondering thanks

He was probably right. Same thing happened with my SUV basically. Electric lock for the rear hatch. Some places show the actuator as being a seperate item..about $25, but know one has it anymore. Have to buy an entire latch mechanism for $125. I just skipped it since the manual lock works just fine.
