1990 Honda Accord LX Speed Meter Problem

1990 Honda Accord 4Dr LX AT, 195,358 miles. My wife left head light on until it drained all battery power. After this, my wife turned on ignition key and cranked engine a few times, the speed meter raised to between 60 mph to 130 mph for a couple times then it rested at 163 mph (meter only shows upto 130 mph). When I got home and jumped cable from another car, the car starts just like what it usually does, the speed meter went up to around 165 mph and stayed there while engine is running with or without idle. When I turned off engine, it backs to around 163 mph. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks!

I unpluged wire from speed sensor which sending speed to speed meter. Drove for about 10 miles. Pluged wire back and drove for another 10 miles. It has the same problem during this testing. When wire is connected, the trip meter and odometer are functional correct. Any other suggestions from anyone?

Try disconnecting the battery for ten minutes.

Yes, it is Speedometer. After almost three days of this problem, it suddenly back to normal this morning while I am driving around 73 mph.
