!994 Thunderbird Fuel Pump

On my T-Bird with the 4.6 V8 the fuel pump will come on when the key is turned on and shuts down until I start it. Then it seems a little louder than normal and runs all the time. At times the pump will cycle a little and my volt meter will drop and then go up. It runs good all the time but when it is lugged down has a little stutter. Doe it sound like it is time for a fuel pump?

Could be pump or filter, but here are a number of other possible causes. The operation of the pump you describe is normal; the only way to know for sure is with a pressure test. As the filter is a preventive maintenance item, it wouldn't hurt to change it regardless of whether it is the cause and you might get lucky.
