Wink seat motor

Hello
Nissan Pathfinder Armada LE 2004.
There are two motors in the passenger seat;one to go back and forth and one to move the back of the seat from a right angle to almost flat.
The second one has a bad motor as confirmed by the dealer.
He wants $999.00 for the motor and $ 300 for the labor.
Is there a less expensive way around this?
I was pretty good in the 50's + 60's with a wrench and very much understand how things have changed especially the electronics.
I have access to the motor and know enought to disconnect the negative cable before working on it.
Is this something I could call salvage yards about and install or is it a job for a technician?
If the former is true, could you give me any tips?
If the latter is necessary could you give me a ball park figure as to what I should pay?
Thank you for your help.

I would absolutely go to a pull-a-part for that one. the seat motor is a sealed unit with a molded plug so it should be prety hard to mess up.

Hi Wire
Thanx for the info.
I'll google salvage yards in my area and call/go to see if I can get one.
