touch up painting help

The top of the door of my car got badly scratched. I got some Dupli-color lacquer and sprayed an area approx. 12" x 24".
It matched very nicely. However, I can't get it to shine. I used rubbing compound and a lambs wool buffer but it won't shine. It just stays dull. What is wrong?

Did you spray it in the sun or when the door was warm from the sun, or was there a breeze when you sprayed? The reason I ask is that any of those conditions can cause the paint to dry too quickly and cause what is called blushing.
Try lightly scuff sanding the new finish and then respray it in the shade or preferably in a garage when the door is cool.
