Is there a special tool required to replace rear brakes on 2006 subaru outback wagon?

That's a little bit of a vague and tricky question. I don't believe you'll need any special tools to change the brake pads per se, but you will want to bleed the brakes and a power bleeder or vacuum pump comes in handy for that.
If you have done brake jobs previously, then you shouldn't have much trouble figuring out this car.

It's for a 2004 Outback, but should be the same brakes as your 2006 if I'm not mistaken.
