Removing Starter from 1998 4Runner

I can not determine how to remove the starter from the car after it has been taken off. There is not enough room to remove the starter from the engine bay. This is for a 98 4runner, 2.7L 4WD, automatic. The dealer says to remove the rubber access panel/splash guard, but the brake lines are still in the way. any help is appreciated.

From Autozone site:
# Disconnect the negative battery cable.

# Remove the cosmetic/acoustic engine cover.

# Disconnect the accelerator cable and intake air connector.

# Remove the intake manifold assembly. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): Engine Mechanical, Intake Manifold.

# Remove the two bolts holding the starter motor to the engine block and lift the starter away from the block.

# Detach the electrical connectors from the starter and remove the starter from the vehicle.
