1995 altima starting issue, this is tricky

Ok, I have a 1995 altima gxe, auto. trans.
I replaced the starter a few months ago.
It would rarely start in Park, but started fine in Neutral.
So I just replaced the Neutral switch. Now it starts more often in Park, but not each time. Still starts each time in Neutral.

Any ideas as to why it doesn't start consistently in Park?

Thanx

Starting

Are you absolutely as to the switch being correctly adjusted?

I used the adjustment hole while in neutral when I tightened the end of the shift cable--as directed.
Now it seems to start 90% of the time in park(better than the 10% I had before), but now it's that 10% not starting in park I am trying to rid myself of.

One thing I forgot to do is clean the male contacts coming from my engine befroe I replaced the switch--opps maybe that's it.

If you went back to the alignment hole you pinned while initially installing the switch would the alignment pin go through the hole again without trouble?
