'96 Chevy S-10 2.2 l problems

My relative owns this truck and yesterday, "all of a sudden" there was a loud, repetive noise when in gear..like a clunking noise.

Oil pressure then went very low and the truck could not go faster than 30 mph.

He's thinking it's a rod in the engine.

How to fix? what to look for? some advice? thank you!

If it's a rod, you're gonna have to rebuild the engine. No way to tell by the information you provided. Never run the the motor with low oil pressure.

Yeah, definetly it's the engine. Trying to find one in car junkyards and Craigslist. Haven't found one, yet.

Any other places to look?
