stuck oil dipstick in 1997 honda civic si

The 1997 Honda Civic si from my son ( who passed away last year ) has been sitting in my driveway for about the past two years. It starts and run fine. ( I want to sell it. )
The problem is that when I tried to pull out the oil dipstick, it will not come out. I am afraid to pull too hard for fear of breaking off the dipstick.
Should I use as much brute force as possible to pull it out?

You might try some penetrating spray on it; My VW's is tough to get out and it is only a year old and requires a pretty good yank on it. I don't know what else your options would be; does it rotate at all; perhaps that might loosen up the joint?
