Question 2001 Sebring Door Alignment

My daughter has a 2001 Sebring Convertible. The driver side door is slightly out of alignment so the door latch is a little lower than the latch pin. End effect is she is lifting the door as she closes it to get it latched. Any tips on process for getting this back into alignment for her? Thanks a ton.

If the door alignment with the roof is off then the hinges need to be adjusted. If the alignment is pretty good, you can adjust the metal pin on the door post that the latch in the door grabs. You'll need a Torx bit (might get a Phillips screwdrive bit to work if lucky) to loosen it. Mark an outline of where it is now before you loosen it in case you want to go back to original state. Then, loosen the pin and move it in the direction needed for the door to close (down in your situation). Then tighten it and check operation. Repeat as needed to get it where you want it.
