Question No power/light to cluster panel on '04 GMC Sierra

I have 2004 GMC Sierra and often and on, not all the time, I get no power on gauges,(including RPM & seedometer) or indicators (transmission/gear). At times this problem lasts for, say 3 days, and then all of sudden, all the the gauges become 'alive'

I opened up the instrument panel and took out the cluster, detaching the electric connectors(gray and blue), sprayed 'electronic connector cleaner' but no use.

I think the connector is fine because when the headlight is on, the background light on the cluster illuminates.

Does anyone have experience like this and can anyone share with me any solutions to this problem?

Thanks for your input in advance.

I know GM had problems with their cluster gauge display, and at one point were replacing for free.
You might want to check TSB's/recalls,and dealer

What he said. I have a letter from GM regarding my '04 Sierra that says special coverage was issued on the instrument panel cluster for 7yrs or 70,000mi. Questions on coverage should be directed to GMC Customer Assistance Center 866-996-9463
Good Luck,
