Remote Starter

Is installing a remote starter on 1998 Nissan Maxima a DIY project or should I leave it to the professionals?

Unless you are really good at electronics I would leave it to the pros. You dont get a second chance with this stuff. You see your electronics work on magic smoke, and if you see the smoke come out it quits working.

I really like the idea of being @ the vehicle so when I turn the key when it's -30f outside,, I can see oil pressure, battery voltage & listen for all the noises you don't want to hear... Unless you buy a VERY good unit & have it installed VERY professionally (seems impossible) I wouldn't get a remote start & I wouldn't even buy a car with one installed if you see how the installers put them in,,, Sorry,, Just seen too many units with masking tape & scotch-loc connectors come in on the wrecker....
