Engine oil pan has huge dent !

I noticed today as I changed my engine oil that the bottom of the engine oil pan has a huge dent. It appears we drove over something and caused it. There is no oil leak or anything and the oil plug screws in just fine. Can I continue to drive my mini van like this or should I replace the bottom pan ?

Tough call; the major problem would be if the pan was dented sufficiently to interfer with the oil pickup inside. Probably best to get a mechanic to look at it.

The second question is.... can you remove the oil pan without removing the engine? I had a dent in my wifes '98 Bonneville, I pushed the floor jack under too far and caught the corner. Fortunately I could pull the pan easily. The pan was some weird plastic/metal composit something and I just beat out the dent from the inside and installed a new gasket... good to go!

If you can get it off, its no big deal. My biggest pain was reinstalling the oil level sensor that went thru the pan.
