Ford F-150 Service Engine Soon

I have a 2001 F-150, 5.4 liter engine with 187,000 miles on it. I just had the oil changed, and my Service Engine light just came on, separately (?) my heater just started blowing cold air. Anybody?

Check the coolant level & pull the codes & post the results here.. May be low coolant level not flowing to the heater core,, or a thermostat thats stuck open.. Or other things,,, Now the CEL is on,, get the codes read & post them & the pros will take it from there

What came up on diagnostics were the numbers PO171, amd PO174. Oxygen sensors? I am really inexperienced, and would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Lean bank 1 & 2?? I'd be checking the hoses around the intake for a leak.. Is it possible they checked the PCV valve & didn't get it back in the rocker cover?? Is the dipstick seated in the tube?? Check for a vacuum leak & let us know what you see.... Roger

I had these codes on 2 cars, one was also a Ford F150. In both cases I cleaned the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and it resolved the problem. If you do a internet search on these codes you will find a site that will explain this in more detail.
