1992 Plymouth Neon Transmission Problems

The transmission on my 92 Neon seems to not be shifting correctly. When you first start the car and drive it a few miles it is fine. After a few miles, if you try to speed up real quick it will kick into passing gear but after that it seems to be stuck in it. The rpms increase alot and you have to push the gas really hard to get it to keep speed.

I have changed the transmission fluid and filter, but it seems to have got me nowhere. Plz help!!!

You didn't say how many miles on it, but a '92 Neon with the original tranny in has probably reached its life expectancy. Best to get it into a good tranny shop for an opinion.

Check your TV cable and vacuum lines leading to the tranny. Get a manual to help find these. Don't know for sure if your car has a TV cable but it should have some vac lines leading to a modulator. If it has a modulator, I'd replace it just for the hell of it. Doesn't cost much.
