2003 corolla alternator

Hi. I ran my battery dead on my 2003 toyota corolla(left the interior light on). When I boosted it there was a small arc. After that My alternator isn't working. Did I ruin my alternator or just a fuse. I know that I hooked up the booster cables correctly.

The fusible link might have melted.

Running at a fast idle with everything off you should have 13.3v (summer) to 15.5v (winter) across your battery, for a properly working alternator and fully charged battery.

Also might have cooked a diode in the alternator. I was going to ask about proper jumper procedure, but you mentioned that already.

FWIW, I checked the tow-ers bible and there don't appear to be any special procedures on your particular vehicle for jump starting (some late makes/models have some special notes to prevent frying things).
