How much does idle engine vacuum change with mild rpm changes?

For a little stocking stuffer Christmas present, I might get a vacuum gauge to test the engine and comware to new specs and whathaveyou. But to really find out anything meaningful, the reading needs to be pretty accurate. If engine vacuum is XX at 700 rpm idle, let's say, and the engine tach is not the most accurate - then how much off would the vacuum be (in #'s Hg) if say the idle was really 1000, or vice-versa, let's say?
