New Winshield Wipers-Winshield cloudy

Hi,

I just bought a new set of winshield wipers. They work fine. They wipe very smoothly but when they wipe(come across and back the winshield) the winshield is cloudy and at night it is very hard to see. I have tried pouring coke on the winshield and wipers (my brother suggested this). I, also, tried rubbing alcohol with no luck with either.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Bonnie

might try-wash the windshield with amonia/water soloution, rinse with clean water.
it will get the oily film off the glass-wipe the blades also.

Sometimes. But I tested it just sitting in the driveway experimenting with squirting washer fluid and I could still see the cloudy streaks?? Do new winshield blades sometimes have an oily film on them? My brother said one set that he bought came with something to clean them off with??

Thanks alot.

foggy windshield

I ran in to a rain storm one time about dusk and couldn't see worth a hoot. I remembered an old trucker telling me about rubbing tobacco on the windshield to cut the oil film. I took three ciggarets and rubbed them on the wet glass and it worked quite well.
