Folks:
I have 97 TOYOTA CAMRY.I just replace the battery and drove to motor vehicle dept. to have the vehicle inspected.I failed the
inspection because according to the inspector the computer
needs to reset. He said this happens when you replace the battery. If this is true how can I make the computer reset?I need
this to happen so I can pass the pollution test.Thank you in advance for your help. Ron

Normally just driving it for a few days...highway...city...just normal driving....will get things back to normal.

What the inspector said may have been confusing...but on many cars..when you replace the battery..th comp needs to "relearn" so that it runs most efficiently.

When you "reset" it, either by cutting power or by a special tool...it needs to relearn.
