If you have the key

Disable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
Tilt lever.
Upper and lower steering column trim cover.
Turn lock cylinder to run position.
Push against locking button on back side of bearing and housing assembly and remove lock cylinder.

Lock cylinder to housing assembly. NOTICE: Rotate the lock cylinder to the "RUN" position. Depress the lock cylinder button. Gently push the lock cylinder into place while rotating the key approximately 5°in the counter-clockwise direction.
Upper and lower column cover (3) Torx(R) screws.
Tilt lever.
Lower left insulator panel (3) screws.
Enable SIR system.

If you dont have the key the column has to be removed.with all of those above plates removed then you have to drill out the retainer that you push when you have a key aprox 10mm or 3/8 of an inch from the base of the lock cyl with a 9/32 drill bit then depress the retainer spring and remove the retainer spring (will require a bit of fiddling and no doubt cussin LOL)with a pick or the special gm tool. Clean the drill hole and you should be able to remove the cyl retainer clip (may need needle nose for this I've tapped on the column to get to come out) Reverse to install but you will not be able to install the release button you drilled out but the spring and retainer will have to be finnessed back in to prevent just being able to remove your new cyl.
Good Luck
