Power steering pump help

99 windstar had a bad p/s pump so I changed that out. Trying to bleed the lines and it is making a noise worse than what it did before I changed the pump. Is there a good way to bleed the lines? The chiltons manual said to start the engine and turn the wheel back and forth.. Doesnt seem to be working well for me.. Any help will be great!

When did the noise start?
When does it make noise? (turning? All the time? etc.)

to bleed the system fill and turn wheel side to side over and over... but not all the way... then look in the resivior should look milky.. as its tiny little bubles... wait a second for bubbles to rise then turn again and repeat.. took me about 10 min of this get it right.. but yes it was growling loud but when you got most you can turn more to make sure you get it all out..

And also is it a moaning power steering noise or the loose belt squeel?

What or who determined that the pump was bad?

It's might be as mentioned though, the bleeding is more involved than one would expect.
