Cool Front struts on a 2006 Maxima

The front struts on my wifes car makes a rubbing noise by the top bushings, the struts work fine by bouncing the car up and down. Is there anything I can do instead of changing the top bushings? Is this a common problem with the struts for this model? Can I spray some penetrating oil on the bushings to stop this rubbing noise going over small bumps or maybe tighten the center nut some more on the bushing? Thanks for the input.

the bearing is going out, mark the position of the bolts that support the top of the struts and then carefully remove the nuts holding them in position and jack the car up and support with jack stands, allowing the struts to sag down. then reach up and check if you can turn the top mount, should feel smooth when rotated. if not best would be to replace the struts, not good to just replace the bearings. that is usually a sign of wear on the struts all over.
