2004 Grand Cherokee left brake light

2004 Grand Cherokee left brake light

It doesn't work even after replacing with new one. Any idea's before I take it to shop.

Update

It is real dim when the head light are on and semi dim when the headlights are off. I heard this can be a problem with the GCs. Not found a fix.

May be a poor ground? See what happens if you run an alternate ground to it.

You were right about the ground. It was actually the plastic ring that holds the receptical in place must had heated and melted a bit. So I had to basically break it so the tab would pop up a bit more and get better contact with the ground. The tab was melted to the ring and therefore bad contact. Thanks for the help.. This is a problem for the jeeps and there are many more electrical problems I had to fix.
