How can you tell if the fly wheel is bad. and would it cause the starter on to engage?

Thanks

You would have to visually inspect the teeth. If the starter is not engaging it is more likely the starter is bad.

That part I understand, I'm trying to figure why I have replaced 2 starters in a short amount of time. and both times It had a clunking sound before it started and that will be the last time it starts. then it seems like there is no jucie going to the starter.
