Windshield Wipers
2000 Mercury Marquis..........Windshield wipers, on drivers side only, miss a 3" area, at about the middle of the windshield from one end to the other. I've tried different brand wipers and cleaned the windshield to be certain that there was no oil film. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Don't think this will help any, but I have a 2005 Ford Freestyle that I bought new. Car has always been garaged and there is no foreign residue on the glass. Worst wiper system I have ever owned. Three different, EXPENSIVE, wiper sets and they all skip and streak. My 2001 Ford Ranger and my 2001 BMW have blades that are over a year old and they virtually do a silent clearing job.
The most annoying thing is the chatter. I think it is just a poor design by Ford and there should be a recall
I would suggest that you thoroughly clean the glass with alcohol.
