I want to re-charge my A/C system for my 2002 KIA Sportage with R134 but do not know how to purge the existing coolant in the system.

Well...they basically said it in the other thread...but...

No reason to recharge unless it's not working. If it's not working due to a leak, then you need to find the leak.

You can't purge a system without several hundred (at least) dollars worth of equipment. Plus you will need gauges, lights, and chemicals to try and find why it leaked in the first place.

Sorry..not really a DIY job...

As we have mentioned before, there is no reason for the OP to recharge system unless the leak is FOUND and PROPERLY repaired by a professional, otherwise the OP can be seriously injured by hooking the lines up wrong, and pumping the refrigerant into the high side of the system.

I am going to agree with newtofta as well. Yes I have done my own A/C recharge, retrofit, I also took an A/C course and got my license for it. Have it checked out by a pro. It could be your own life that gets taken if a can of refrigerant explodes in your hands due to inadvertently hooking it up backwards.
