Camry radio - no volume - repair suggestions?

I have a Toyota CAMRY 2001 WITH A CD/CASSETTE/Radio player - Fujitsu Ten 86120-0C020 Face Plate: 16814

The volume control is broken and I get no Volume. Display works and I can tune stations but get no sound. Would you recommend replacing the face plate (if I can find one) or the complete unit?

Could the unit be working fine and I have lost connections to the speakers?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Ask your Toyota dealer who does their warranty radio repairs and get a phone number for the company. You may be able to send your head unit to them for repair or exchange. That way it would be a straight out and in with little hassle.
Going with an aftermarket radio could open a can of worms ...

Camry radio - no volume - repair suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestion to send in the radio unit for repair.

I have been able to find the same unit for sale on eBay (for about $60) - which strikes me as less than the cost I could expect for a repair.

My one remaining concern is that the unit itself is fine and the connection to the speakers is the problem.

I could try testing the speaker via the radio/harness connector but I would have to hassle with finding a mate to the harness connector.

I suspect the easiest path is to pay the $60 for a replacement unit and keep my fingers crossed.

It wouldn't cost a cent to get an estimate from the repair depot, they may have warrantied exchange units.

If your eBay seller has good feedback you may be in luck with him/her.

Good luck.
