1987 Ford Escort

So I have a 1987 Ford Escort, with 1.9l 4cyl gas engine. Needs new heater core. How difficult is this to replace? Does the entire dash have to come out? A/C not a problem, clutch is rusted, and it's discharged, so if i have to pull the evap core it won't be a problem.

If you want to wipe the smile off my face, just say the words "heater core"!

I like that video though! That would make a tough job a LOT easier than trying to look at the diagrams in the factory manual which are not always accurately drawn.

Roger,

Forget about wiping the smile. "King Pin" replacement will wipe the the mouth off your face so you have nothing to smile with.

also shows how to part out that area of the car if your car isn't worth fixing. How is a 1995 car that clean inside?

I would assume that an 87 would be setup differently than a 95...
