cable
pulled automatic tranny from 86, K10 chevy pickup
but didn't notice the cable going from the carb to the tranny so it was hanging by that cable so I finally cut the cable
and now my question is how is that cable mounted inside the transmision? If I pull the pan cover from the bottom will I be able to acess it and replace the cable?

if you cleal around the base of the cable - at the trans - you will find a 10mm headed bolt-remove bolt-& un hook the inner cable.
note-trans will not shift without cable.

When reinstalling the new cable, hook up the trans end first, otherwise it wont reach.....

I remember very fondly, my First experience with a TV cable, and all the other mechanics standing around giggling while I cussed and screamed.
Ensure you follow the adjustment link Sam provided. It is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL that it be adjusted properly!!!!!!!!!!!
Any of the Older Ford Guys will recall the 15 minutes of destruction when the grommet at the throttle body broke off.....Same Theory here......
