Cooling Fan Failure 2006 Equinox

2006 Equinox 3.4LV6 large cooling fan motor failing (wobbles and noisy)

Went to advanst auto parts and they gave me a price of $307....WOW!!!
That's for the entire assembly including both fans, shroud and motors.

Well forget that......I just need one motor.
What is the work-around for this. There has to be an alternative motor I can use in its place and make it work.
For crying-out-loud it's just a 12v dc motor.
Is there a TSB from GM on this?

Fan failure rate on Equinox is high. GM knows and refuses to do anything. Won’t even issue a TSB, much less a recall. You should call to vent and complain.

Since failure rate is so high you shouldn't consider replacement from junk yard. Only be inheriting someone else's headache.

Yep, thanks. My thoughts to on the junkyard part. I don't want to have to do this again.
It's a p.i.a to the get the fans out on this vehicle.
Thanks ASE for the phone number......I use it.
