snapped screw extractor in bolt
I am trying to remove a 6mm flat head screw with a stripped phillips head. I drilled a hole into the head of the screw and used a #3 Black and Decker screw extractor. Unfortunately, the screw extractor snapped off. I ground what was left of the extractor it flat with a dremel, and have tried to drill it out, without out success [it is obviously very hard]. Does anyone have suggestions on how to drill out the B&D screw extractor or the 6mm screw?

The average drill bit wont touch something like this, I have had some luck with solid carbide bits but they break easy and are expensive. Now you know why I say the guy that invented these things should be castrated.

If the bolt head is exposed, and even if you have boogered it up, there are external extractors that you use like sockets that will remove it. I have a set, and NOBODY touches them. They are invaluable for when you need to remove a stubborn bolt. All the pressure is on the outside of the bolt head and not in the center as was your extractor.
