Question brights dash light is staying on when brights are not on and now

daytime running lights and headlights don't work at all. Any ideas to get the dash light off? I'm thinking this is the reason for the other lights not working.

thanks
Gee

Have you looked at the headlight switch or possibly a relay

Where abouts would the relay be for me to look at and what would I be looking for (what relay looks like and to see if the relay is bad or still good)? The light switch seems to operate properly, I have parking lights up front, tail lights, turn signals and fog lights which all work fine.

What year, model, type car is it? Some cars have a rotary switch that will take you from normally working headlights to parking lights to DRL only with flash. The relay is probably located under the hood on the driver's side in a big black box. The legend will be on the box lid once it is removed and inverted. You have several relays that have the same number on them. Once you locate the headlight relay, you may want to swap it with another, say to the horn, to see if it is the culprit.

It's a 2003 Nissan Sentra Ser. Do these relays look like a fuse?

No most likely they will look like 1" square black boxes with numbers either on the top or side. They will have multiple pins so they will only go back in one way. Of course check your fuses, as well. Your car may have an additional fuse to protect just the headlights. I have one that protects each light with separate fuses, so you can blow one, but not both, I guess.

No luck, I moved relays around and still same problem, fuses are fine also. I can't find a separate fuse for each headlight.

Looking at the Autozone wiring info and parts..I don't see a relay for headlights. Fogs, horn, etc yes..but not headlights. Looks like they may be controlled through the DRL module/computer. Same for the dash indicator. Where or what that module is, I have no clue.

Any idea where the DRL module would be?

As I said...no idea. And most likely this is a dealer only part...and only they would prob be able to even test it..if it can be tested.

Some of the Pro mechanics may be around later...after work.
