Battery on my Mini Van is Dead and just replaced the battery

I don't know what is wrong with my mini van. I just replaced the battery and when I tried to start it this morning it wouldn't even start. The battery was just replaced about 2 weeks ago. Is there something in the van that is draining the battery?

Thanks for your help

Why did you replace the battery? Was the battery actually bad or would the engine not start?

first, turn your headlights on. If they do not come on then check your battery terminals for tightness or corrosion.

If you have a volt meter check battery voltage.
If in fact it is dead, you may have either a bad battery, or a short in system. It could even be a trunk light that is staying on when trunk is closed.

Also a faulty alternator or voltage regulator can either cause your battery to discharge or not charge properly. Most stores like autozone will test both the battery and alternator for free. The battery should be charged first for the testing to be accurate.

After you jump start the vehicle, while running is the battery or charge light on? If it is, most likey you have an alternator issue. If you shut it off and it is dead after a couple of days, something is draining your battery. Like mentioned before, could be a trunk light or other circuit..which will need further troubleshooting.
