2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport battery/brake dashboard light
I own a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 3.0L, with 77k miles. The battery/brake dashboard light came on today. does anyone know what this means. The truck seems to be running fine. thanks...

you can't possibly have one light for both, do you?
you need to address battery light immediately. most likely - you are running on battery, meaning, alternator does not provide enough power for the power train needs, and it is being borrowed from battery. you can run like this not for many miles, and will get stranded somewhere in deep sticks guaranteed.
you first line of defense is to check alternator belt. if it's loose, it will do this. 2000, if it was never replaced or tightened, it is very possible. if you have serpentine belt, then it's most likely due anyway, as those are supposed to be replaced every what, 80-100K miles?
brake light, a little yellow P, right, guides you straight to the brake fluid level check. that's where it starts. if it's low, you refill, but need to check on leaks and such, as there's usually unpleasant cause for brake fluid to go low.
