1990 Olds 98 turn signals

Guys, this one has me stumped. Left turn signals do not flash. All bulbs turn on but no flash. Right turn signals and hazards all work. I cannot find a bulb that does not work. I spend the better part of the morning and $30 making sure. But no flashy. My Haynes guide says there is ONE flasher unit for turn signals and one for hazards.
So since the right ones work, the flasher unit should be fine.

Any ideas?

Well...your thinking seems right...but hazard and turn use the same type flasher...so why not switch 'em?

You have a bulb that is not grounded good enough to draw current enough to trip the flasher.

Excellent suggestions. I replaced a few and discovered some that had some sort of yellow paste in there. Corrosion preventative I'd imagine. In any case, I'll check every bulb, clean every socket and see what happens. Thanks very much.
