1997 Ford Explorer shift problem.

I have a 1997 Ford Eplorer 2WD, 4.0 SHOC engine, automatic.
When the vehicle is cold , it shifts fine. When it is warm from a short drive, when I place the gear selector to Drive it will hesitate about 5-10 seconds before in engages. Other than that it will shift through all gears with out a problem. Reverse is fine also. Fluid is pink as it should be and full, no leaks. Any Ideas? Tranny Flush? Filter and fluid change? Stuck Solenoid? Trans cooler? Blown valve body gasket?

Pretty common for a tranny that is failing to still have reverse. Ditto the good-cold/not-good warm. You didn't say how many miles on the vehicle, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for an easy fix.
