2000 Ford Windstar, needing AC recharged

How dificult is it to recharge the AC on a vehicle yourself? Our 2000 Ford Windstar quit working last summer (only blows hot air), and I was thinking about trying to recharge it myself. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.

If it has a leak, then you need to find the leak first. A shop will draw all the air out, see if it hold vacuum, fill it with the correct amount, check pressures, and check for pressure leaks.....bout $100-120 depending on where you live.

It would be different if it was just low and needed a shot to get it filled up...but thats not your problem.

A gauge set and freon will run about $90-100 if you wanted to buy them...but a vac machine is prob close to $1000 (less if used), but you still have to know how to use them.
