1994 Mercury Topaz engine dies

I'm having an issue with a 1994 Mercury Topaz. The car will start and run 1-2 minutes and die. I can start it up a second time, same thing. If I try to restart it again, it won't start. If I let it sit about 2 hours or so and try again, the same scenerio happens again. I replaced the fuel filter and If I take the the outlet hose off the filter fuel shoots out, so I'm thinking it's not the filter or the fuel pump.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

Im thinking its the TFI module.
Check see how hot it is after a couple starts. I think it is on the .....I dont know where it is. i will take a look later.
You could check for spark to see if it is getting a good spark or not when the problem happens

Are the ignition control module and the TFI module the same thing on this model?

I've got my replacement module. According to replacement instuctions I found online, it states to remove the distributer from the engine to get at the bolts holding in the module. I've removed the distributer cap, but don't see what bolts mount the distributer to the motor. Can someone tell me where the connection point is? Thanks
