Lexus - key-less engine start - key fob

2010 Lexus E350 / with the key-less engine start / key-less entry
vehicle has '2' key fobs.
#1works / the #2 does not.
Is it possible that #2 just needs to be reprogrammed?/
If so - what are the steps ?
thanks- in advance !

mike

look up key learning procedure for Lexi, or Toyotas, and try that. You can not reprogram a fob, only dealer can. heard rumors about some craftsman in Canada that does this, but what use is it for you?
Old battery maybe? also, you can pop it open and clean all terminals with pencil eraser, but you'll have to do learning procedure anyway.

yeah, buddy, I looked up that procedure in my 2007 TCH manual, and it does not show it. But that manual is written with layout unfathomed by normal humans, so it might be there, I simply couldn't find it. There's a procedure like this:
1. approach car and press lock key on remote
2. perform a remote function
3. turn metal key in the door lock.

that was the only one I could find. What the heck #2 means, is everyone's guess. otherwise, they say "dealer" everywhere else.

it is not actually 'my' car,
'a female acquaintance of mine'
with the key fob that works - all she has to do is have the thing in her purse - walk up to the drivers door & touch the door handle - it unlocks / open the door / sit-apply brake / touch start button & you are off !

As ukrbyk suggested, check the battery in the fob. Keyless start battery on wife's Camry only lasted two years.

Battery for hers was a CR1632 lithium. Lexus may be the same. Open the fob and check.

I know. I have same in my 07 Camry Hybrid. There's also metal key hidden inside the fob. On mine, it's the piece that has little loop for wrist strap or key ring, which is, actually, key handle. There's a press button that releases it from the fob, so that it can be taken out and used as mechanical key.
I'd also try to pin it on dealer, under bumper to bumper 36K warranty.
