1995 cougar xr7

AC only comes out of defrost vent no matter what i a set the control, has anyone had this problem, would like to fix it myself but have no clue if it''s just the switch or something else HELP

it is caused by a problem, with the vacuum supply from the engine, to the a/c control head.
some thing that old, i am not able to tell you where to look,
look for a small (1/8" ) black plastic tube under the hood.

Or the diversion door is disconnected/busted.

look for small vacuum line running along upper firewall. connects to fitting by left finder with a couple of other lines. replace with regular rubber vacuum line. your service engine light is probably on too. new vacuum line will shut light off. vacuum line. breaks by the end at fender.
