heater blower stopped working

So my brother-in-law replaced the heater core in his 89 Cadillac Seville (or Deville not sure) and then 5 minutes after running driving the car around a little with the heater working good again (after the change-out) the heater blower quit. And he said he also noticed the gas gauge happened to stop working then too, at the same time (likely not related but hey, who knows), He said he checked the fuse(s) and all looked okay. He said he's sure all connections to the blower if he happened to disconnect them or bump them or anything during the core change-out are fine and connected. Any thoughts what might be going on or what he might check next? any comments/advice appreciated

I can not say for sure myself but I found this in the Cadillac forums.
There is a 25 amp A/C fuse in center area of fuse panel. It also controls other dash functions. The heater fan is mainly controlled by a known to fail, blower control module located under hood in the heater box. It is known to make blower run non-stop even with car off when it goes bad. They are around 125 new or can be found used for a bargain usually. The part number will end in 1602 and fits many Buick, Pontiac, and Olds cars as well with Electronic Climate systems.

Thanks badeyeben! I told brother-in-law about the fuse you mentioned. He said he looked at that fuse and it "looked fine". So after I told him about what you said, he pulled the fuse anyway it and changed it out with another. And bang the blower started right up as did the digital gas gauge.
