Agree. My sisters Mitsubishi Lancer is waiting for me to fix it for similar problem, only she lost all speeds. Pulled the resistor out and eyeballed it and it has a small metal piece that has broken; $60+ dollars to replace, yikes.

thanks

Thanks for the info...Is a resistor an easy fix...I'm only a little above the "change your own oil" type mechanic. Also, was that $60+ for the resistor or just that metal part you mentioned TowGuy?

Whole thing, I don't know if a Camry would be more or less $. It's generally an easy fix; on Sis's Lancer the hardest part was finding it. Tthey are usually mounted to the side of the ac ducting with the resistor itself exposed to the cooler air inside the duct for cooling. Most are one plug and a couple of screws, very easy if you can find and access the thing.

Wherever you buy the part they may be able to print you a diagram. I suspect the first step would be to remove the glove box.

If your Camry has automatic temperature control, the resistor pack is about triple $60.

Good point; our Camry is the plain vanilla temp controls, so I didn't think about that.
