How Can I Remove My License Plate

Hi-

I have a 2007 Honda Accord. I want to change the coverplate to my license plate. The coverplate on their now is the own from the dealership where I purchased the car. I just tried to unscrew the screws holding the coverplate and the license plate on the car. These screws are rusted and I can't unscrew them. I tied putting some WD40 on the front and back of these screws but I still could not unscrew them.

How can I get these screws off so I can install a new coverplate? Thank you.

Do the screws turn and not back out (like a stripped thread?) or are they stuck, not turning at all? An impact wrench would likely break them loose. If you don't have one, put your screwdriver on the screw and smack it with a hammer as you turn counterclockwise with the other hand.

The screws do not turn, they are stuck. I don't have an impact wrench.

I'd try hammering the screwdriver then, which might break the rust loose as you turn. That and the WD-40 should eventually do the job.

Can you post a picture of this plate holder? I don't see how it can become totally frozen within 30 days. The screws you are trying to turn may be decorative. A pix would help. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
