Random metal clips

Hi all,

Yesterday I changed the front brake pads my the other halfs '99 ford festiva.

Upon finishing the jobm i noticed these 3 metal clips on the ground which came from the car, presumably the brakes. 2 on one side 1 on the other.

any idea what these bad boys are for, and is it safe to drive the car without them..

Those appear to be a brake clip or sometimes called anti-rattle clips. Used to keep brake pads in correct align and limit movement.

thoses are the replacable slides that fit on the caliper bracket. they prevent wear to the braket it's self. no quik harm will come to not having them but i would not go long with out. your pads could wear spots into your bracket causeing them to hang.

Oh ok. Thanks for the info, but I was looking to see where they are supposed to go but could not find it at all.
Do they go between the bracket and pad? Or on the outside of the bracket?

Yes, Fetivas, 3 generations, were sold in the USA under Festiva name. Made by Mazda (who else will make a decent car for Ford), 1986 through 2002.

Sorry, apparently, neither model exists on Autozone repair guide. I tried Festiva, I tried Aspire - none. Tried different years. They must be heck of reliable vehicles, as I do know several people who own them and see them in the streets.
