Post 1998 Ford Windstar Recall# 09S09 on the Speed Control System and spongy breaks.

I have a Ford 1998 Windstar and have found their has been a Recall #09S09 on the Speed Control System. I have had the Connector harness and the Sero replaced and still have spongy breaks… would the breaks get air in them from replacing these parts? If not, what would be causing the spongy breaks?

they are not related. they replace a pressure sensore on the master cylinder and add a connector. i bet your issue is a line leak down the line. most i have seen are right behind the gas tank.

Pamalak,

Also, was any brake work been done recently that involved opening up (or disconnecting) brake lines? If so there is still air in the lines, and as it stands now you should try "Power Bleeding" the brake system.

Thank You
Amy
