air bag light on honda

The airbag light on my 2006 honda crv is lighting up and staying on while driving. While I know that I can not fix it myself, I would like to know something when I take it to the mechanic. Price of the repair, the possible problems, and any thing else that would be important for me to not get scammed. Thanks

No way to tell til it get's scanned. Most likely it's just a sensor gone bad or a bad connection.

I've never heard of an actual air bag ($$$) needing to be replaced except after an accident...so I doubt it will be that expensive.

Don't think so...and I'm not sure if the ones that Autozone and the like use will do it either. Might be worth a call to them about that.

Unless things have changed the readers at parts houses will only deal with engine performance issues.
