2001 buick regal 3800 v6 bucking and clucking, )
Just found a project car to play with for a friend in need of basic transportation.
A 2001 buick regal with a V6 3800, the engine runs fairly normal on idle, on cold start, it is a little choppy, but once it warms up it runs better at low idle up to about 2500, above that and you get a real whopper of a mess.
Here is a video in case someone out there has seen this and found the cure.
buick - YouTube
Checked Air filter, (needs replacement) checked plugs (needs replacement)
checked MAF, appears to be newly installed.
Checked for collant leak, (not obviously leaking) no pressure test as yet.
I am going to replace the air filter and plugs and plug wires and test again but in the time being thought I would put this out there to see if someone had a thought or idea.
Really hoping to avoid the UIM LIM situation.

sound like you are hitting the rev limiter. the computer is pulling spark to reduce the chance of engine damage.
