2001 Mazda Tribute 3.0 V6 Rough idle

Weather got pretty cold (mid-low 20's) at night last few days. Car would idle very rough for first few min of operation (almost dying and surging back up to 1500). After just a few min it would smooth out but still seemed to be idling higher than normal for cold. Once it reached op temp, no problems at all rest of day. No lights or codes. Cleaned IAC, MAF, and throttle body (didn't take TB off car) as well and cleaned and lubed cables and pivots. This morning seemed much better but temp was 33, so not sure if what I did helped or whether it was just the higher temp.

Any other suggestions? Wife will be taking for long trip when she leaves on Mon. She's moving to Seattle.

could be a sight vaccum leak that is only showing up in extream cold. where as it get warm heat makes the two halves expand and seal all before the car reachs closed loop where i can even monitor for a leak.

Take it to one of the auto stores for a free diagnostic test. What you're describing should have set a code. Once you know the code, look it up on the internet. You'll find lots of information to help you.
